The Harper boy who was kicked by a horse near Byars last week, is getting along nicely.
The Chickasaw Reunion of Confederate Soldiers will be held this year at Sulphur Springs July 22, 23, and 24. Free entertainment of all old soldiers is provided for.
Byars is going to have a big picnic July 21-22. They are making elaborate preperation to give all who attend a good time.
J.A. Mays, formerly Pres. of the Elk City National Bank, of Elk City O.T., shot and killed himself in the Dallas County jail last week.
Monan Pruitt sold 160 acres of land south of Pauls Valley for $8750.

Muscogee June 23 - According to a decision just made by the Department of Interior, a white man who married an Indian woman and later married a white woman, by so doing sis not lose his right to an allotment in the Choctaw and Chickasaw nation.
J.L. Oliver was given a life sentence at Duncan last week, charged with having killed Wm. T. McMillin, a M.K.&T. brakeman near Caddo last year.
John Smith, a negro prisoner in jail at Ardmore, dropped dead last week from rhurmatism.[????mw]
BASE BALL NEWS
The base ball game between McGee and Big Creek of Friday July 1st, resulted in a score of 15 to 8 in favor of McGee. the features of the game was the good fielding of Sam Hyden in the third and also a home run secured by him in the fifth. Willie Archer made a good catch of Smith in the ninth. Smith was in fine trim for game which was demonstrated by his excellent pitching with the support given him throwing the ninth inning with appearantly more speed than at first, striking them out at his will. Every body hurrah for the boys.
